Plant and mail watch
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Ran a house-watch service for traveling neighbors — daily photo updates, {n} trips covered
Brief
When neighbors travel, you water the plants, collect the mail, and send a photo update after every visit. The page explains your streets, your rates, and how the photo updates work, written so a nervous traveler reading it from an airport relaxes. The photo after every visit is the product; the watering is the excuse.
Personalize
- The visit. Exactly what one visit includes and how often you come. The photo update goes out the same hour, every time.
- The keys. Handed over in person, labeled with a code word instead of an address, kept at your home, returned by hand when the neighbor is back. Write the routine on the page.
- The rates. Per visit, set with a parent. A ten-day trip should have an obvious total.
- The proof. A sample photo update on the page, from a practice run at your own house or a relative's.
Milestones
- Page live on day one: streets, rates, how updates work.
- Practice run done at your own or a relative's house; the sample update made from it.
- Key routine written and checked with a parent.
- Page shared by mid-week with the neighbors who already know your family.
- First trip covered start to finish: every visit done, every visit photographed.
- Final README: trips covered, what a traveler asked before saying yes.
Done means
- Live URL responding; readable on a phone
- Honest-claims check passed: the sample update is from a run you did, the streets listed are ones you can reach daily
- Keys handled per the written routine: no address on the label, returned by hand
- First job or inquiry logged in SESSIONS.md, which has an entry per session, with a photo per visit
- Payment agreed before the trip and settled in person after
- Mail collected and held unopened
