Little free library catalog
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Built {project_name}, a weekly-updated catalog of a neighborhood book exchange — live at {url}
Brief
The little free library on your corner has an inventory nobody can see without walking over. Catalog it: what is on the shelf this week, checked on your walk home, plus a shelf history of what came and went. Neighbors check the page before walking over, and the history becomes a small record of what your street reads.
Personalize
- The library. A little free library you pass often enough to check weekly. If a household hosts it, tell them the plan and get their okay before publishing their box's location.
- Your checking rhythm. Pick the day and stick to it. The catalog is only useful if the "last checked" date is recent.
- The shelf history. Decide what a history entry looks like: arrived, taken, how long a book lasted. The book that vanished in a day says something; so does the one nobody will take.
Milestones
- First full inventory taken: every title and author on the shelf, photographed for your own reference.
- Catalog live at a URL with the current shelf and a last-checked date.
- Second week's check done; arrivals and departures recorded, and the shelf history page begins.
- A photo of the library itself on the page, taken by you, with the host's okay if it sits on private property.
- Four consecutive weekly checks completed; the history has real movement in it.
- Card or note with the URL placed inside the library (host's okay first), so borrowers can find the page. Final README.
Done means
- Live URL responding, with a last-checked date under a week old at handoff

- The URL is posted at the library itself and at least one neighbor has seen the page, noted in the README
- At least 8 commits across at least 5 distinct days, authored by you
- SESSIONS.md has an entry per session, written by you
